///Featured Work - SWBC "Rocket"
SWBC came to us after seeing the work we did for TLU back in 2007. That year, the TLU spot "Every" won gold for best TV. This was SWBC's first foray into TV and they wanted something that would set them apart from their competition.  After a few creative sessions and meetings, we came up with a design that embodied the spirit of the company and helped position SWBC in the light they were looking for. Once approved, JEH hooked up with creative genius and longtime friend Dirk Mitchell to help flesh out and conceptualize our crazy ideas. (Dirk is an industry veteran of many years at agencies both big and small – including Leo Burnett, The Richards Group, and Publicis). With a wicked concept in hand, we were ready to bring the project to life, which is where our kick-ass art director comes in. Dewey Rash (aka Bubba) took the words off the paper and, well, used a whole lot more paper to make the models we used.
One of the crucial aspects of this project was creating a hand-cranked feel that we really wanted to bring that to the screen. Bubba, with his years of production design on movies such as "The Alamo, Ace Ventura and many others", went to work designing the perfect models and landscapes for us. Once all was built and airlifted to our offices, we used photographer Marks Moore to help with stop motion and digital capture. After production was complete, Tony (director/animator/bbq master) and Chris (conspiracy theorist/animator) plugged themselves into a large 100-gallon barrel of Red Bull and started animating. Three years, two months and ten days later (well, it seemed that long), with the help of intern ninja Marco Rabadan and compositing master Joshua Puenta, we finished.
This project was a blast. We are currently in animation on the second spot and can’t wait to share it with everyone.
Special thanks to the awesome SWBC for their patience, and for letting us play and have fun.

Wait, I just want to make sure I got this right... You want me to almost drive off a cliff, then crash an airplane, then ride, literally, ontop of a spaceship..." ? Don't worry lil' man it's all special effects. I'm the director, Tony Gallardo, you can trust me."

This is the mad scientist/art director Bubba Rash scheming in his workshop. The naked mountain is very revealing to the process.

That car is soooo money. The stop motion set gets the stop action treatment. Also, that guy compensating for his belt writes super lame picture captions ;-)

After careful preperation Marcs Moore the photographer is told to shoot the models the intern, Ally, protests to being part of that category.

"...see, we set the car right here, then we take the picture from over there..." Who's puppeteering who here?
The boss man makes a special appearance just to point out what a good job every one's doing. (Hooray for lame puns!!!) : )   Jackie, "Oh, you guys are actually working.Then I'll just watch over your shoulder and tell you to do what you're already doing."

"That's right, my close up's in here twice... cause I'm the director... and I can do that!!!"
